Lead
Now Fellows is a teacher-leader corps that
aims to provide better educational outcomes
for students in Nigeria’s government schools
by utilizing the talents of graduates to
provide an excellent education for public
school students through Lead Now's training
and curriculum.
To
this end, we engage expatriates,
international supporters and the nation’s
most valuable public and private sector
partners to also cultivate Nigeria’s most
valuable assets—youth—in order to help raise
academic achievement for primary and
secondary school
students. Lead Now Fellows promotes the core
values, thinking, teaching and
leadership skills that graduates can
translate into meaningful employment
opportunities at the completion of their
fellowship.
Teaching As Leadership With
the support of Nigeria's private sector, the
state Ministry and Federal Ministries of
Education, and the National Youth Service
Corps (NYSC), Lead Now Fellows will recruit
and reward Nigeria’s top graduates for their
service. The Lead Now Fellows teaching
fellowship will sensitize these future
leaders to
the realities of public school education
while developing nd sharpening their
leadership skills for 21st century Africa.
Corporate
Social Responsibility
Lead Now Fellows provides a tremendous
opportunity for Nigeria-based corporations
to engage with teachers, schools and the
nation's future leaders--our Fellows. Lead Now expects
that the corporate community’s display of
social responsibility will trigger
individual displays of social
responsibility, as has been the case in South Africa with Deloitte-Touché
leading the charge with Teach For South
Africa. It is increasingly evident that
corporate and private sector engagement is
critical to redefining learning in Africa.
Lead Now welcomes private sector partners to
join us in the movement.
